WIO BANK: DISRUPTING BANKING


My Role: Program & Delivery Lead across a multi-year collaboration with Wio. I worked directly with Wio’s CEO, CPO, and CMO, managing our internal teams and leading the delivery of complex product, brand, and marketing initiatives.
🧭 Context & Challenge
Wio is the UAE’s first fully digital bank, launched in 2022 and backed by Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth fund (ADQ). It was the first banking license granted in the country in over 17 years — an opportunity to reshape the banking experience for SME, personal, and youth segments.
At Hanzo, I led our engagement with Wio from a program and delivery perspective. I worked directly with their executive leadership and internal teams, overseeing the successful execution of multiple high-stakes projects while managing researchers, designers, developers, and marketing specialists across workstreams.
🚀 What I Did
Agile Delivery Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Owned the end-to-end delivery process across multiple teams and workstreams, from sprint planning to execution and QA.
Acted as a key point of contact for Wio’s leadership (CEO, CPO, CMO), aligning goals, scope, and delivery timelines across departments.
Oversaw internal resource planning, day-to-day coordination, backlog prioritization, and cross-functional syncs with Wio’s product and marketing leads.
SME Banking Platform
Oversaw delivery enhancements for Wio’s SME banking product, managing the execution of UI/UX and front-end sprints.
Led internal teams of developers and designers through agile iterations to improve the product post-launch.
Supported integration of Flutter-based front-end architecture for hybrid deployment across web and mobile.
Brand, Marketing & Design Ops
Led delivery of Wio’s design systems, creative frameworks, and campaign templates.
Worked with Wio’s CMO and marketing team to establish a scalable asset creation pipeline.
Managed rollout of reusable design assets for faster go-to-market execution.
Personal Banking & Platform Expansion
Co-led delivery of Wio’s personal banking vertical and modular website.
Managed internal design and dev teams across research, interface, and front-end delivery — ensuring alignment with product roadmap and user needs.
Oversaw successful handoff to Wio’s internal developers and product managers.
